Mnemosyne

Mnemosyne (Mnemozina) by Split-based illustrator Luka Duplančić is a haunting and evocative tribute to memory, identity, and the Mediterranean’s timeless layers. Depicting the Greek goddess of memory emerging from the deep blue sea—her eyes fixed on the viewer—this monochromatic illustration transforms the “Sea of Collective Memory” into a space of reflection, history, and imagined futures. Rendered entirely in blue—the symbolic color of the Mediterranean—the artwork invites us to consider what we remember, what we’ve forgotten, and what we risk losing.

This limited edition print is part of the debut collection Mediterranean 2035 – Through the Eyes of Creatives / The Next Chapter, exploring the region’s shifting narratives through the work of contemporary artists.
