MEDITERRANEAN 2035

Mediterranean 2035 – Through the Eyes of Creatives / The Next Chapter

A brand-new series of limited edition artworks – a look at the Mediterranean today and what its future may hold

After three successful editions of the NoMAD MOVIE ART project presented within the official FMFS programme – in which Croatian authors interpreted movie classics – this year we open a new chapter. Still with focus on the Mediterranean, we shift from nostalgic portrayals of iconic Mediterranean films to personal, creative visions of the region today and in the future. MEDITERRANEAN 2035 merges retrospection with speculation, focusing on the present and the personal experience of today’s Mediterranean.
Seven native artists – Franka Tretinjak (Pula), Lucija Bužančić (Split), Luka Duplančić (Split), Goran Radošević (Split), Ivan Milas (Split), Vjeran Juhas Piro (Pula), and Boris Pehar (Mostar) – were invited to share their visions through photography, design, illustration, or typography, presented as limited-edition digital prints. As a counterpoint to previous years’ nostalgic takes on movie classics, the new works address everyday life, contradiction, beauty, loss, longing, and resistance. MEDITERRANEAN 2035 invites visual storytelling that questions the future by addressing climate change, social transitions, tourism erasing authenticity, and cities transforming into backdrops for tourists.
